Green beans are one of those side dishes that I learned to love as a kid. While I was a very picky eater, there were a few healthy things that I would consistently eat, thankfully. Green beans to the rescue!

As an adult, I love them even more. I’ve created a variety of green bean side dishes over the years, from this ever-popular Firehouse Green Beans recipe, to these Seasoned Green Beans, and Green Beans with Shallot Butter. You can even learn how to French Cut Green Beans here!

Now that Chris has a little more free time and flexibility, (read why here) we’ve recently rediscovered our love for grilling! It’s so much fun to throw things on the grill that we would have normally baked or cooked on the stove top.

After I realized just how incredible grilled baked potatoes and grilled sweet potatoes are, I knew I needed to perfect these grilled green beans. This method is beyond easy, and I know you’re going to love it!

Serving Suggestions

These green beans serve beautifully alongside a variety of main dishes and entrees. Consider serving them with the following:

  • Steak
  • Boursin Chicken
  • Greek Chicken
  • Lemon Pepper Salmon
  • Shrimp Kabobs
  • Lemon Pepper Chicken
  • Pesto Chicken Recipe

Tips

  • Trimming – I generally buy green beans that have already been trimmed, just to eliminate an extra step. However, if you buy them untrimmed, it’s easiest to line them up in a group and do a big chop with your favorite knife. Goes so much faster than trying to do a couple at a time!
  • Charring – It’s so easy to tell when grilled green beans are done! You can customize the timing based completely on your preferred level of char. Simply toss and remove when they’ve reached the perfect exterior color!
