I am debating whether to try to do this; I would have a very narrow window (Oct 8-16) so it would be tough but doable. Hoping to get some more data points in coming weeks to determine whether waiting to October is worthwhile.

My tier collection ends on Dec 8th. This is the response I received:
Your current membership year ends on 08 December but your next membership year after that will be shortened, and will run from 09 December to 31 March. I have just checked however and if you extend your Gold status by taking the required flights prior to the 22 October, your status will be valid until 31 January 2026.
Then they go on to say that a flight using the AARP discount would not be valid, but I'm still not sure that is accurate.
Given there could be a soft landing to sliver, I think I will pull the trigger on upfaring a flight I had planned on taking (am booked on AA using SWUs). Total additional cost ~1,900 for one + year of FSL and FCI, and then one additional year of FSL access.

IIRC qualifying flights need to be BA Marketed, whether operated by BA, AA, IB or AY

Help me understand here; so 1 x RT to extend the match period - which it is speculated could run to March 2026 & then to retain Gold or get a soft landing to Silver you'd need 4 flights in the subsequent qualification period (i.e. March 2025 - March 2026 in my example)?

Do you definitely need 4 flights for soft landing?

I haven't read through the whole thread, so apologies if this has already been gone over, but when I try to view the conditions of this offer I am getting a note that it has been withdrawn.
(I was just trying to check whether 4 flights were needed for a soft landing. They aren't for 'normal' gold, but may be for a status matched one, so I wanted to check but was unable to).

Makes sense that they took the page down since the sign-up period has expired (so the offer is withdrawn for new applicants)
The original offer page never used the number 4. It did however, make two confusing and/or conflicting statements (below is my paraphrase from memory, not the exact BA wording):
- Take 2 flights (1 round trip)
- Take a flight to London and onward to Europe
This led to a lot of confusion regarding whether a round trip to London would count, or if you must continue onto another country in Europe. It also led to confusion whether 2 flights worked, or you required 4 flights.
Numerous posters here have been assured by BA that a London round-trip would suffice. Of course, we still await data points of actual extension for that case.

I am taking two flights within Europe in June, will be interesting to see if they count towards the four.

If you look at your app, it says, to retain Gold... then there are 2 categories. One says tier points, one says number of flights out of 4 flights. If you look click on the information icon, it gives all the info including that the trip must be marketed by BA or Iberia and defines what that means such as must be on a BA or Iberia plane.

The offer did not mention the soft landing policy, my guess would be that the 4 flights are not necessary to receive a soft landing but who know.
For anyone who wants it, I saved a PDF of the offer page, attached here.

When does status expire?
When does my BA status expire? I have read some of the posts in this thread but it's still not clear to me, maybe because I'm new to British Airways. I've also seen references in this thread about checking in the app, but I have an Android phone and I think the Android version of their app does not have the same functionality as the iPhone version. I can't seem to find a copy of my digital membership card and the Android app
When I log in on web, my account shows that I have Gold status and then it says:
"Tier Point collection year ends: 8 March 2025
Membership card expiry: 19 October 2024"
But elsewhere, it says:
"In future, the Tier Point collection period will start on 1 April and end on 31 March every year. The change will be in place for all British Airways Executive Club Members, starting from 1 April 2025."
However, I've seen conflicting information about whether the status is good until the end of the current year, or next membership year. And if it's the current year, does that mean (for me) October 19, 2024, March 8, 2025, or March 31, 2025? Is there a possibility my status is good until March 31, 2026?
If it matters, I took a round trip in business class from New York to London in early May of this year
Thanks in advance

I have the andorid version of the app and when I click the upper left and select My Account, it shows my digital membership card.
Did you qualify for the staus match prior to your trip to London? It doesn't look like that has extended your status. Yet. (Hopefully it's not because you didn't go 'onwards to Europe')
Ron.

Well, good news and bad news.
The good news is that I was able to find my card in the Android app.
The bad news is that the expiration date of my status is October 19, 2024, which I think is 6 months from when I registered for the match. (Yes, I registered in advance of my trip).
It never even occurred to me that a round trip ending at LHR may not qualify for this promotion. For one thing the UK is part of Europe (geographically if not politically) but I read those as different ways to qualify.
Ironically, I did fly "onwards to europe" (to IST) but I flew Turkish because the timings were more convenient. I'll be really annoyed if it turns out I don't qualify, because I would have credited to AA to requalify for EXP if not for this match offer
